Usually anything involving boredom is not good.
Tonight I recieved some “new” 4gb USB Hard Drives. Being bored, I decided to run diskdigger on this media. Much to my surprise 1 drive had over 200 music files, the other over 100 and a couple video files.
This NEW media had files on it, interesting. I should note that neither drive had duplicates of the other. Finding this new way to get over boredom, I tried diskdigger on a new 8gb thumbdrive that came preloaded with a game. Just opened, and again found files. This time the files were related to the game, mostly image files, a few pdf about installation, and a ppt slide that I could not open. Could these be leftover from the “Master” burn?
My question is three fold. 1st, ever get bored and do something only to find yourself surprised by the results? 2nd What do you think about finding files on “new” media. Lastly, what if any steps do you take before you loan out a thumbdrive or other portable media?
Next step is to try the laptop HDD that a friend is planning on ordering, again new, and see what I find on it.
Looking forward to the comments
