Display problems

By Deltaboy ·
I am running a HP Vectra (V1) Pentium 166 with 64MB RAM, with a HP D2832A Monitor (M500), the display adapter is S3 Trio 32/64 PCI (732/764). I am running Windows 98 SE. The problem is that at present I can only get 600X800 resolution at 16bits color. I have tried to find new drivers but to no avail, can you help me?

Another good site fro drivers is www.driversguide.com enter "drivers" as user name and "all" as password. Near bottom of page is driver search. Maybe your graphic card will be listed on a third party site?
Good Luck!!!

That may be the best you can do with that card. I did some quick checks and found one quote pertaining to that chip

Trio32/64 and 868 do not support packed-24 pixels (24 bpp), which generally implies no 16M color modes on a 1Mb card.

that came from the following link

www.computercraft.com/docs/Videochipsets.html

16 bit color at 800x600 resolution is not too shaby for a p166.
