Display Resolution Problem

by brianpray . Updated 24 years, 7 months ago

I recently encountered an error when my PC was booting that stated that “CG16eh had caused an error in MMSYSTEM.DLL.” My PC’s normal boot now resembles the basic graphics of the SAFE MODE, 16 colors & 640×480. I have tried to change the settings, but that didn’t work. I have also tried reinstalling Windows ME and overwriting files with the reinstall, but that didn’t help either.

My SYSTEM.INI does contain the line referencing the drives to the MMSYSTEM.DLL file, so that doesn’t appear to be the problem.

I don’t know if it is possible for me to obtain and a new MMSYSTEM.DLL file and overwrite the problematic one.

Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks.
