I’m deploying several new Dell D620 laptops. These are the first laptops I’ve used with what I’ll ignorantly call a “wide screen” display.
When the system is in the docking station with an external monitor connected, I’d like the display set to either 800×600 or 1024×768, depending on the user’s preference. I don’t have any problem setting that, but when I click Start, Undock, and undock the laptop, the onboard LCD remains at a 4:3 ratio. This doesn’t use the entire LCD, leaving an almost one inch (or just over two cms for you metric folks) unused vertical bar on each side of the display.
I’d like the laptop to automatically adjust to use the full screen when not docked. Is there a way to make this happen or is the user going to have to adjust it manually every time?
