display shakes

By pips888 ·
The picture on my computer display shakes and wobbles. If I turn the monitor on and off a few times the problem seems to go away for about 10 minutes. i plug in another monitor on my computer and it works fine. I heard somewhere that the power supply in the monitor might be bad. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem with a monitor.
I went to the properties of the display and changed the driver to one that works better. It took just a little trial and error. The regular driver for my monitor wanted to use a default refresh rate of 75 Hz. This made the picture shake. I guess the circuitry is marginal and after changing the display adapter driver to one which used a lower refresh rate, the problem went away for me.
Good luck.

try the degauss button on your monitor. it may be hard to find, but it's there somewhere. it may be in a menu setting.
another possibility is to see if there is something plugged into the same circuit that is alternating current (such as a fridge, a/c, electric motor, washer, dryer, etc.) that may be causing your monitor to wobble.
just some off-the-wall suggestions to try.
