A while back the display on my monitor developed a problem. There is banding of what in a printed page would appear as a smudged band across the page. The smear varies according to the width and darkness of the darkest part of the screen and bands completely across the screen. My monitors self test screen seems normal so my question is if the trouble stems from my graphics card expiring or a problem with my monitor. I guess replacing with a cheap graphics card for a fix would be my choice of a fix if that would alleviate the trouble as this machine will be my secondary PC due to a new build high end computer I’m putting the finishing touches on.
Has anyone dealt with a similar problem and found the proper fix?
