displaying graphics in mht files

By psmith ·
After creating Excel workbooks with charts, we save the files as .html files. We opent he files in Explorer 5.1 and save them as web archive (*.mht) files. We then email (using Outlook Express 5.0 or Outlook 2000) the mht file to users. These users are on NT 4.0 ws using Outlook Express 5.0 and IE 5.5. Some users can view the mht files and see the graphics, other users only see the "missing graphic" icon. Anybody have any ideas as to why this may be happening?

You're talking about the very same MHT files, right? Some users see pictures and others don't?

At the risk of being excessively obvious, have you checked IE's setting under Internet Options/Advanced/Multimedia/Show Pictures?

If that's not the problem (and I assume it isn't) I would try comparing every last Internet Options setting between a user where it does work and one where it doesn't.

I hope this helps.

I found a better solution - a pdf maker. That takes care of everything! I print the excel spreadsheet to the 5D PDF Creator and it saves the file in pdf format!
