Distribution List: Doesn't Work

By fastwide ·
Inherited this Exchange 5.5 installation. Most of the time it works o.k., however there's something wrong with Distribution Lists.

Create list in ExchAdmin. Add members. It shows up in GAL, and in company Outlook address books. You can choosethe group as a recipient from all Outlook 2000 clients - but when you attempt to send a message, it just (1) stays stuck in the outbox (some clients), or (2) message appears to send, dissapears completely (other clients).

Any ideas? Clues to troubleshoot?

Distribution List: Doesn't Work

Is it possible that there's one mailbox on your distribution list that is full and rejecting email? Anyway, to troubleshoot, I'd try creating a dist. list and just put one mailbox on it - i.e., your own. See if you can send. Then try adding people until you can't send. There's bound to be one bad one in the bunch...Hope this helps!

Quite funny one

I suggest you run a DS/IS consistency check and enable maximum logging and then check to see if you get any errors

Does it happen on a new DL?
R u running sp3?

Good luck
