Distribution List in Public Folder of Exchange 2003 (SBS2003)

by venom.za . Updated 18 years, 4 months ago

Hi guys/gals,

Who-ever can answer this deserves to win a major lottery in their lifetime 🙂

I just setup a new system with SBS2003premium and need to transfer all distribution lists from the old SBS2003 server to the new one.

The customer setup a standard Contacts list then a distribution list with multiple lists within containting contacts from the Contacts list. (Confused yet?)

Structure as follows:

Public folders
–Contacts

–Distribution List (Main)

—-Distribution List1 (within Main one,Using contacts from “Contacts”)

—-Distribution List2 (within Main one,Using contacts from “Contacts”)

—-Distribution List3 (within Main one,Using contacts from “Contacts”)

—-Distribution List4 (within Main one,Using contacts from “Contacts”)

Problem is once copied accross, the link from the Ditribution lists to the Contacts list become broken.

I heard you have to re-do all distribution lists on a new server manually typing it all in. I also heard there are tools I can use that does this sort of thing automatically? I can’t find any 🙁

I hope that all made sense, in short I need to do it automatically from Sbs2003 (old server) to SBS2003 (New server)

Thanks

Russel
