"dll" file recovery

By Brad Morton ·
I just recently discovered that my windows xp professional setup disc has developed file corruption and partial data loss right in the section of the disc where my dynamic link library is located. Short of buying a new disc, is there any other way or place to find the entire dll file as one piece? I looked around Microsofts help web pages but kept coming up with a piece here and there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No there is not any other place to acquire these files

You need to get another Install Disc so if this is a System Makers Recovery Disc you can contact them and buy a Replacement set but if it is a M$ Branded OEM Disc you'll need to look on places like E-Bay for someone selling their old disc's.

try making a copy of the CD.

Or maybe this may work provided you have the Original Disc

I have used a DVD Scratch Repair Kit on numerous occasions in the past to make a Disc work well enough to allow me to copy it.

It may be worth a try but don't attempt this with a recorded Disc.
