DLL Viewing

Hello all.I am looking for a way to see what is inside a dll.How is it done?What do i need?Do i need some kind of programming enviroment like Borland Builder3 or something?
Sorry if the question sounds naive but i am new in computing.

If You are using Win98 find the dll in windows explorer right click on it and select "quick view" or "open with" then select notepad.

go to http://www.sysinternals.com and look for dllview and download it. It will give some information about the chosen dll file.
