DNS Between Sites using Fedora & W2K3 Server (over VPN)

by azgreen . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

Hello all,
Hoping someone can help me. This is probably very simple, but can’t quite get my head around it.
I have a customer, which has two sites, linked via a permanent VPN link (snapgear routers).
One site (192.168.10.x) is running Fedora Core 7, the other site (192.168.40.x) is running Windows Server 2003. Both site handle their own DNS, via the OS.
The client would ideally like to be able to access resources from either site using name resolution, e.g. if they are at the Windows site on the 192.168.40.x network, they want to be able to access a resourse on the 192.168.10.x network using name resolution.
What is the simplest method here to get this working?
The customer wants seperate DNS servers running (one at each site), but do i need to set something up so they can share DNS records?
If i need to do anything at the linux end, please spell it out, because my comfort zone definitely lies with windows! 😉

Thanks
