Hi I’m struggling with DNS naming when planning an upgrade from NT4 to AD.
externally we are represented on the web in this format:
www.rxxxxxxxxxxxxx.co.uk (although we don’t host our website internally)
having read some documentation i was going to call my internal dns/ad domain
rxxxxxxxxxxxxx.local
i read however that there may be an issue with netbios resolution because of the 16 character restriction – my company name has 19 characters. Is the best advice just to have a shorter internal domain name?
