DNS on Win2k – Search and Replace?

by darren.stradins . Updated 24 years ago

I am running Win2k DNS to host our internet names. I have 400+ zones, many of them defensive, but all contain a A record ‘www’ to resolve to our company webpage.

Every now and again, I have the need to do a global search and replace throughout all 400+ zones for certain IP addresses (since some of our websites are hosted externally)

Eg. All occurances of 10.1.1.56 to be replaced with 10.2.2.33

I have got by with VBScripts to do this up to now, but it is a messy process… and eventual admin of DNS will be handed over to another support team in the coming months…

Has anyone come across a tool that simplifies the administration of DNS on Win2k and provides global search and replace functions that I am after?
