DNS Server on a Domain Controller?

by netlion . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

I have heard conflicting statements regarding whether you should run DNS on a Windows 2000 Domain Controller with Active Directory. I have a number of clients who are currently running NT 4.0 and have a BDC at each remote location on their WAN. This BDC is also a DNS server and is a secondary copy of the primary DNS server running on the PDC. These clients don’t have the $$ to buy servers for different services so they were thinking of updating to Win2K in place with their existing hardware. Any thoughts?
