DNS server unable to interpret format

I get this error 5 to 8 times a minute, day in and day out. Machine is running Win2k server, sp3

DNS server unable to interpret format.
Registration of the DNS record '_ldap._tcp.Default-First-Site-Name._sites.dc._msdcs.RADINC.NET. 600 IN SRV 0 100 389 server.RADINC.NET.' failed with the following error.
or
Registration of the DNS record '_kerberos._tcp.Default-First-Site-Name._sites.dc._msdcs..........
Other than a huge error log, everything else seems to be fine. Any suggestions?

It looks like your DNS server is not accepting the dynamic updates that this machine is trying to send to it. It may be misconfigured, or there could be other problems that would require a little more troubleshooting. I'd try checking the configuration issues mentioned in MS Knowledgebase article 259277 first, and then if that doesn't resolve it, reply with more details on the exact message, including the Event ID number and source. Hope this helps!

Synergy, thanks for the suggestions. The msft KB was helpful but its probably a misconfigured machine. This server is the PDC on a small 25 node network. Internet access is thru DSL, and there is no DNS server specified (I've tried listing the PacBell DNS servers but the errors did not stop.
