I personally wouldn't bother

Unless you are experiencing issues with the OS not correctly recognizing the Hardware.

I've found that it is just easier to manually check every few months for new drivers but I have also seen examples of New Drivers reducing Functionality of Hardware. Particularly Video Drivers where some things can stop working correctly till you roll back to an earlier driver.

If you have one of the big name brands,

they usually have their own update system anyway, which would take care of drivers for anything originally shipped with the system.

I, also, personally find it easier to just look as well. Unless you have a fairly new OS (like 7), it is unlikely you'll find a few updates, if any.

Now, if you ever planned on reinstalling, and your drivers have updated since the original installation, driver backup utilities (e.g., DriverMax) can be handy. Most of them will also search for new drivers if you like, as well.
