I am in the process of buying a new PC. My current one has 512MB RAM and it slows to a crawl when I’m working with 1+GB Access databases and 50MB Excel spreadsheets. It also has a 5,400 RPM hard drive. I’m thinking I will definitely buy the 7,200 rpm hard drive and at least 1GB RAM. Would it help even better to go with 2GB RAM (or even 1.5GB)?
