Do I need Exchange?

I am currently working with our company and we are using internet based mail with Outlook. We are running into a problem in our Tech support department. We have an email account that is Support@ourdomain.com
This account is being looked at by oneperson and he has to forward to other people. If we set this up with multiple people we have several email responses being sent out to the same people as we cannot keep track of what email has been sent. Does anyone have some ideas of what we could do to possibly make either an account that is viewable to multiple people and updated so we don’t send out multiples, or another system such as Exchange where we can have a public folder where these emails can come in. I am not familiar with Exchangebut if this is the best option, could you give me an overview of the setup of Exchange. Thanks.
