    do without inserting Office2000 SBE CD

    We recently purchased serveral new computers with Office2000 SBE preinstalled.

    When the users want to make modifications (office assistant, shortcut bar…etc), it asks for the Office2000 SBE CD.

    Is there a way to have the required files in each computer’s HD without putting the CD on the server or install the whole CD on the HD?

    Appreciate the help!

      If you do a full install of everything that you require, it will not ask for the CD’s.

      When you install the product, there will be icons representing CD’s on the left hand side of the explorer tree. Click this and select “run from my computer”. This will fully install everything under that tree.

      No more asking for CD’s!

      Yes, install the full version will be just it. You should have nno problems after that. But if the requirement of CD still presist, try copying the whole CD into a directory, and share it through the network.

      If you do not want to install the whole CD, then what I suggest is that if you have a CD-Rom server install the CD there and when the user is asked to install the CD have them enter the path to the CD server. Hope this helps.
