Document sharing on dual boot machine

By mickthielen ·
Any organizing procedures from you all on 'My Document' folder differences between WinMe and WinXP? I have to keep my dual boot set up for what looks like a couple of years to do help desk. I have place the doc folders on partition 3 (FAT32) for sharing between systems.

Document sharing on dual boot machine

Hi Mick,

I have a couple of thoughts on this... If Win98 is going to be big part of your support life for the next couple of years then you could look at a product called VMWARE which allows you to run both OSs simultaneously.

Also I would consider installing XP on a FAT32 partition so you can freely look at the files on both partitions. I know FAT32 is less than ideal for XP but its a compromise for accessibility. You wont need to worry so much about maintaininga FAT32 partition for your shared data.

Cheers,
Tim.

Document sharing on dual boot machine

Good thoughts, Tim. But I guess I really just want a better algorithm for the "messy" <documents and settings> folder that now contains the "my documents" folder from "Me" while running XP.
