Dear All:
I am wondering if the problem one of my users is having with her PowerPoint presentation is due to the Allow Fast Saves option being turned on in PowerPoint.
She is using a Gateway E-3110 computer with a 7.85 GB hard drive, 128 MB RAM. She doesn’t often have PowerPoint problems, but the fact that this presentation contains a lot of notes makes the mystery more interesting.
She saved her presentation at the end of the day one day, and then tried to open it at a later date. She saw the error message “PowerPoint can’t open the type of file represented by (filename).” Nothing we could do could recover the corrupted file–couldn’t show it, couldn’t quick view it.
Is Allow Fast Saves at fault here? Is it something else? I just want to make sure it doesn’t happen again–I have already disabled it in the user’s version of PowerPoint.
