I have used a free Web-mail service from www.mailandnews.com. They have now been down for more than a week, they claim that a RAID integrity rebuild is taking up many days – see their front-page right now (Mar 23, 2001). Is there a lesson for us to learn – RAID may be good for security, but useless when it comes to a disaster? Or are they just doing it wrong?
