Domain Controler Problem

I have a Problem where we have an old Domain controler that is no longer on our network. how do I remove it from active directory. every time i try to delete it from AD sites and services it tells me "the DSA object connot be deleted" does anyone have any qule how to get rid of that DC from AD or what that error means.

The way to remove a DC from a network is to dcpromo and demote it from a DC to a member server. Then you can remove it from the network.

it is no longer on our network is was an old server that had problems and is nolonger around so we cant to a DCPROMO.

Ntdsutil is the only way to Query and clean up AD.to remove a server run metadata cleanup.there is a sequence to connect to DC ,select operation target and so on .I do not have the microsoft article number but on their site search for NTdsutil to remove server.Instructions are there.
