    Domain Controller Connectivity

    by cmiller ·

What happens to AD when a domain controller only talk to it’s replication partner and not all of the other domain controllers within a domain?

Example: 25 remote sites, each with a domain controller, connected via WAN links to a central HQ in a hub & spoke topography. Site #25 can only see it’s replica pair at HQ.

open active sites and services. create a site for each. Create a subnet for each. link each subnet to its site. In intersite transports, and in IP, create a site link to each site. Now in each site and server under NTDS settings , create if an automatic AD connection has not been created, an AD manual connection to each site. Do this on each server in each site.
