Domain DNS vs Public DNS

by radem . Updated 24 years, 1 month ago

I am running the internal DNS server for our company domain (100 users).
Most of the users do not have a privilege of accessing internet, so for
those who do I configured a public DNS (in TCP/IP setting).
However, stations with the public DNS setting take a long time to log on to
the domain and certain tasks can not be done with the external DNS, so there
is a frequent switching back and forth between two DNS settings.
Is there an elegant way to configure our internal DNS server to pass on to
public DNS server for any domain name resolutions? I can always block
stations from accessing the outside on the firewall level (we use static
IP). I would really prefer to use only our internal DNS setting if possible
at all.
Your help is appreciated!
Thanks!!!
