Domain Name Change

We have W2K & Exch2K set up for .co.uk domain but have recently purchased .com. What do we need to do to switch everything over to .com?

I don't want to have to go to those drastic measures. What about if I just want to be able to give everyone the primary email address of *@greencell.com and leave the internal domain intact. Can this be done?

Oh, if you just wanna change their email address then yeah, add the newdomain.com to your recipient policy and make it the primary address. The RUS will eventually run and add that new email address to everyone but I find that if you run the RUS manually it adds it much quicker. That should be all you need to do on the internal side of things.

yes it is possible to an extent.
If all you want to do is reroute the mail and web addresses to the .com domain.

first you will need cname records in dns to point to www.newdomainname.com and mail.newdomainname.com

this should be done on the external as well as internal dns servers.

then on the exchange server add the recipient address of user@newdomainname.com and make it the primary recipient address.
