My company has been using an ISP to handle our internet based mail for years and we have used various products to get internet mail and deliver it to exchange. We are now on exch 2007 and I will be installing an edge server at the perimeter to handle it.
The problem is this, our domain is named “domain.gov” and our website and external email are both “domain.us”. I am planning on using domain rename to change our domain inside but I am wondering if having an edge server at the perimeter could alleviate the need to do this…
Can this be done using an alias on the edge device? Does anyone have any input or has anyone done something like this?
