Here is the setup: I just moved my domain server from old office to a new office. We are using a different ISP for the DSL. They have assigned us with a static IP address, gateway and DNS. We have a router connected with ISP modem and Netgear switch connected with the router. Router is set to DHCP and all the workstations are connected with the switch. We do not want to have domain any more so all the workstations are now on a workgroup with dynamic ip addresses.
Question 1: If I want to archive the emails from MS Outlook from one of the workstation, how can i do that? In order to gain access to the email, i have to connect back to the domain server (unhooked) which also works as mail server.
Question 2: We have a dynamic ip addresses coming out from the router. How can i hook up the domain server(requires static ip address) with this switch and act as a domain? I just want to hook Domain server one time to archive the mail from the other system and then unhook again bcz we want to continue with the workgroup. How can i connect that 1 workstation with the domain server again?
You input would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance.
