Domain setup

By Poker ·
I am going to setup a Domain at home with a mail server. Currently I have two proliant servers running 2000 server, a static IP address acquired from a DSL line along with the gateway and subnet mask and a 4 port router. DNS primary and secondary server names were also acquired along with a domain name. Any books that you recommend or advice.

Hello, a few points to clear up first.
1. have you set up the active directory?
2. two servers, are you going to run cluster services, or one for mail server and the other for domain?
3. mail server, microsoft exchange, something else?
4.
a. Mastering Microsoft Exchange Server 2000
by Barry Gerber
b. Microsoft(r) Exchange 2000 Server Administrator's Companion
by Walter J. Glenn, Bill English
c. Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Resource Kit
5.whoever is supplying your domain name usually offers email forwarding and domain name forwarding, ( I use godaddy). have you considered this?
5.Do you have server 2000 or advanced server 2000
big difference and the documents on advanced are very good

Active directory is not in use. Microsoft exchange will be used for the mail server.Looking for more detailed info.
