Domain Time Sychronisation

By g.villis ·
We have 90 servers on a domain, all have different times. Is there a program or tool I could place on the replicator server/ primary that will send out/synchronise the whole of the domain servers to the same time every few minutes/ hours?

Domain Time Sychronisation

Tardis 2000 is a utility for Windows that makes sure your PC’s clock tells the right time. It can find out what the right time is in various ways including using networked timeservers, GPS (The Global Positioning System), and by listening fortime broadcasts over a LAN. Tardis 2000 requires the TCP/IP networking protocol to be installed.
The NT version of Tardis 2000 runs as a Windows NT “service”, just like other services that come as standard with Windows NT.
It acts as both a server and client for the supported protocols. I.e. it can get the time from a timeserver with the ‘correct’ time and then make the ‘correct’ time available to local clients.

There's a gadget in the Windows NT resource kit, which I believe is called the TimeSync service that does exactly this, and can be linked to external accurate timesources such as Rugby.

There is also a UK (Birmingham) based co. who specialise in this field - Galleon Systems - www.galsys.co.uk. They supply all sorts of hardware and software for time synchronisation and will be sure to be able to help, if the ResKit gadget is inadequate for your needs.

For example, you can use this 'net time' command to synchronize all the server in the domain. Good luck.
