Domain Trust Error is driving me crazzzy

By joefeghaly ·
I have two Active directory windows 2000 domains( the domain controllers are running windows 2000 server with SP3):
DomainA and DomainB.
I am trying to establish a trust relationship using the "Active Directory Domains and trusts" but each time i am trying to add DomainA as a trusted domain by DomainB , i receive the following error:
"The DomainName domain cannot be contacted. If this domain is a Windows domain, the trust cannot be set up until the domain is contacted. Click Cancel and try again later. If this is an interoperable non-Windows Kerberos realm and you want to set up this side of the trust, click OK. "
Can somebody helps me because this error is driving me crazzzzzy.

Put an entry into the lmhosts files that reads like this. Do this for each machine pointing to the other domain and the other PDC.

192.168.100.X "DOMAINNAME \0x1b"

In the second line between the quotes must be exactly 20 characters and capitalization matters.

Thanks for this post which is technically valid but it turned out that it was subnetting and firewall issue.
