Domain Trusts

By Tejota ·
I have two domains connected over a WAN. I need to setup a two trust between the two. When I try to add domain B to domain A, I get a message that it cannot find the domain controller for domain B. Is this an issue where I'll have to place an entry into the LMHosts file, load into memory, and then try to establish trusts? Whatever the answer, please give me the details so I can do this.

Thanks...Tom.

Domain Trusts

Well, you need to resolve the hostnames and domain entries somehow, although I got around this with static WINS entries at each end for the domains and domain controllers.
I'm assuming that you can ping by IP address, by the way. If you're using WINS, I'd be tempted to do it that way. If you're feeling your oats, you could muck about with WINS replication, although if the workstations at either end don't need to see each other, it's just a question of communicatiing with the servers, then I wouldn't bother - unnecessary complication and traffic. Add entries for servers/domain for domain B in domain A's static entries and vice versa.
