Dos application in WindowsNT

On a Windows NT 4.0 Server/PDC/SP6/File Server/Print Server, I use an enabled network DOS application. This application can report witch users are logon and use it. But this report in some cases is false. The suggestion from the supplier of the application was to make these changes in registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Lanmanworkstation\parameters:
Value Name: UtilizeNTChaching
Data Type: REG_DWORD
Data: 0 (disable caching)
I want to know what other implication can be here if I make these changes.
