DOS based registry editor for WinNT/2000

By Lokiman ·
Does anyone know how to edit Windows 2000 registry from a DOS prompt? A user of mine added some hardware to his system, and of course there is no backup. This computer does not currently boot. It will also not boot into safe mode or from last known good. I just need to edit one key out of the registry!!!

Have you tried the recovery console? Haven't used it but I believe that's what it's for.

I already tried that, but the recovery console doesn't have a registry editor.

You can check http://www.sysinternals.com, they have several utilities such as erdcommander which has a built in reg editor.
