How do I maximise the size of a DOS box in Windows XP?

The DOS command window is only going to be as large as the font that you choose for it.

Right click the title bar, select properties, click the font tab, and adjust your settings as you wish.

When you right-click on the Title Bar and then choose Properties--Options tab, tick Full Screen under Display Options.

Even better When you open dos box right click;
Properties
Option
Display
Full Screen
Save properties for future windows with same title
Ok
Ok
and that should do the trick
