DOS network logon

We have a DOS pc running a process program. It connects to the network to copy files up to a server. The problem is, if the PC gets rebooted, the user needs to enter a username and password. If they mistype, DOS doesn’t give a warning to try again and the bootup continues and no connection is made. MY question is there a way to have DOS do an auto-logon? Some sort of batch file or lines to add to the autoexec file.??

It depends on your version of DOS. Try adding this command in ur autoexec.bat (This runs for WinNT version 4.0 dos prompt)

“net use \\\ /USER:\”

Substitute words in <> withyour respective information.

That was a good Ideal but the DOS version I have (6.22) doesn’t accept the /USER: switch only a PW option. I did try a bunch of other variations of net use in batch files, but it still gets down to where if the user logs on incorrectly ( and DOS only ask for the userN and PW twice then loads up with out the net connection). What I may need to try is a batck file to check for a valid connection then loop back through the net start proceedure. ???
