    Double row, want single

    Locked

    by brifd1 ·

Periodically, I do something that results in my having 2 rows of icons at the bottom of my screen. Then, I cannot remember how to get it back to a single row.

Right click on the taskbar and make sure that “Lock the Taskbar” is UNCHECKED.

You will notice a thin line along the top of the taskbar and dotted lines around the quicklaunch (if there).

Move the mouse to the long horizontal bar. You will notice the mouse pointer change. Left click and drag down to a single row. You may need to resize other Toolbars to get it to look the way you want.

Once everything is in place, right click on the taskbar again and Lock the Taskbar again.

Nope, this didn’t work. I either get 2 rows or no rows, and the “Lock the Taskbar” is unchecked. That’s the strange thing about it.

You have hooked the top of the task menu bar and dragged it up.

Move the mouse down until it is just at the top of the menu bar. You’ll know when you have it.

Now hold your left mouse button down and resize to your liking.
