Downgrading Windows 7 to XP SP3

By angelakoepplinger ·
Our enterprise uses XP SP3, and we must continue to do this until an enterprise wide transition is made over to Windows 7 or whatever else may follow. Anyone have experience with Purchasing Windows 7 and then obtaining a key to downgrade to XP SP3? We can re-use the media, just need SP3 keys. I appreciate any suggestions from anyone's experience with this.

Windows 7 has a Backward License provided you have the right

Version of Windows 7. This doesn't legally apply to the Home or other lower versions of 7 though technically it's possible just not legal to do.

All you need to do is use the Product Key/s from Old Versions of XP. If you have a Volume License deal with M$ you already have the Product Key and Install Media so it's just a matter of wiping the HDD with 7 on it and installing XP.

If you don't have a Volume License product you could conceivably use the same Product Key that is on one of your existing XP Systems and install this to every new 7 system that you purchase and provided that it's has Enterprise or Ultimate versions of 7 the COA on the system should be sufficient for M$ legal but I would check this out with them first before proceeding.

If you want to get XP product Keys the only Legitimate way is to buy XP Licenses from M$. And here if that is necessary i would be buying a Volume License Agreement.
