Download Connection Reset

Whenever I download large files directly (as in not torrents) from my work server i get ‘you internet connection has been reset’ popup box after about 15mins of downloading. Needless to say i cant get my work done when that happens and its really starting to irritate me. Im pretty sure its not the server because other people can get their packages without an issue. In my searching for answers i saw something about SYN flooding on the server, though i doubt that is the case.
