I am trying to download a very large file (over 400 Mb) from the Web. Workstation is running NT 4.0, browser is IE 5.5, two hard drives C and D, each with 2 Gb. The C drive only has 170 Mb free space, the D drive has 800 Mb. The file looked like it downloaded okay, but when finished was only 100 Mb. Could not unzip ? has bad table and errors (and is probably missing ? of the file). Watching the download, looks like the file first goes to the Temp directory on the C drive, so even though I savedto the D drive, the limited space on the C drive is causing a bottleneck. Making a guess as to how to solve the problem, I checked the registry and found that the Temp directory is specified in the Users Environment key. Not knowing whether I would ruin my system or whether this is even the correct approach, I have not tried changing the key in the registry. Is there some way I can make this download work with this configuration?
