Hello everyone
We use a Psion Organiser II XP where I work. It is used to store surveying data which is then downloaded to a PC. The PC is a 486 running Win 3.11. Although soldiering on for more than 13 years(!), this PC cannot last forever.
I would like to be able to continue to download the Psion Organiser to a WinXP PC. The problem is that the survey software (National Survey Software – SurvPro), which runs on the 486 will not run on the XP machine because it requires direct access to the hard drive which XP will not allow.
I have searched the net looking for alternative programs which will allow the Psion Organiser II to communicate with a PC but have not had any luck. I have tried Psi2Win which claims to be better than the CL.exe program (which I cannot get to work…), but each time I try to send files via the Psi2Win program I get a ‘Device Write Error’ on the Psion. The baud rate and the protocol on the Psion and the program match.
So, can anyone help me with this? Does anyone know of a reliable program that I can use which will allow files to be downloaded from a Psion Organiser II XP to a Windows XP Pro computer?
I will be very grateful if anyone can recommend a program.
