For business travelers who need a reliable laptop video conferencing camera, the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro offers solid video and audio performance at an affordable price--when used with the right conferencing software and a speedy network connection.
We tested the Logitech QuickCam for Notebooks Pro on an IBM T40 laptop running Windows XP SP2. The camera, drivers, and included software functioned flawlessly. The camera provided solid video and sound performance during our video conferencing (VC) tests, although quality depended heavily on the VC software and network connection speed. We tested the camera with both free and commercial VC software, as well as a browser-based system. The camera's negatives are few, but worth considering.

If the "quality depended heavily on the VC software" what software "free and commercial" did you test with this camera? Which software worked better that others? How much RAM was in the laptop?
