Who are we saving it for?

by ProjectDoc In reply to DOWNLOAD: Salvage a proje ...

I ask this simple question because lack of sponsor commitment is the hall mark of many failing projects. Often this is the result of a project taking on its own life, once the team was assembled - leaving the sponsor without a solution to his or her business problem AND a growing capital expense nut that will hobble financial results in the future.

Once we know who - the next question is WHAT are the simple, non-technical business objectives that the project is meant to facilitate? Are they clear and defined - and are they still relevant? Does the business case (there was one, wasn't there?) actually make sense if we go forward.

If the sponsor still believes in the business case, and buys into the business objectives of the project, then it makes sense to go forward with the type of structured rescue mission suggested here.
