Unique Calendar Requirement`

by wattsnew In reply to DOWNLOAD: Use this templa ...

I belong to a group that meets every Friday and every Sunday of the month. We require that those who cannot attend on any given Friday or Sunday write their names down on the calendar square for each applicable date when they won't be coming. It would be nice to be able to create a calendar that shows only the Fridays and Sundays of each month, along with their appropriate dates. Can anyone think of a way to do this?

Delete columns with a macro

by doulos8 In reply to Unique Calendar Requireme ...

You could probably modify the base table in this template and the VBA code as well. But since I don't know Word templates or VBA myself, I would just use this template to create a full-month calendar. Then I'd build a macro to delete the Monday thru Thursday and the Saturday columns. (I found you'd also have to split the header row first and re-merge it when your're down to the 2 days. There were also some other anomalies that I didn't take the time to work out.)

A different approach to getting the required date info

by The Officer's Mess In reply to DOWNLOAD: Use this templa ...

Downloaded the - used it.

The number in the box for day 1 was small, centred and not bolded, like the other dates.

Took a look at the macro and the xml - more time is needed than I have as my knowledge of xml is limited.

Another approach would be to ask for a date in the month of the calendar for to print that month and derive all the needed info from that date.. As follows:

Sub Dates()

On Error GoTo bye

CalendarDate$ = InputBox$("First day of the month of the calendar?")
DateIn = cdate(CalendarDate$)
DateFirst = dateserial(cint(format(DateIn,"yyyy")),cint(format(DateIn,"mm")),cint(1))
DateNext = DateFirst + 35
DateNext = dateserial(cint(format(DateNext,"yyyy")),cint(format(DateNext,"mm")),cint(1))
NumberofDays = DateNext - DateFirst
MonthName$ = format(DateFirst,"mmmm yyyy")
FirstDayofWeek = Weekday(DateFirst,vbSunday)
' thus from the first question of what day in the month for a calendar of that month, you get the following variables:
' NumberofDays - the number of days in the month
' MonthName$ - month name (note that I included the year, something essential)
' FirstDayofWeek - equivalent of clicking on the box in the table representing same
' using this method only one question/action is needed to create a calendar for a given month.
For Count = 1 To NumberofDays
Selection.Fields.Add Range:=Selection.Range, Type:=wdFieldEmpty, Text:= _
"SEQ Date", PreserveFormatting:=True
Selection.MoveRight Unit:=wdCell
Selection.MoveLeft Unit:=wdCharacter, Count:=1
Next Count

Date is in the upper right corner

You have to click in the upper right corner of the first day of the month, not in the center of the cell. (Use Show/Hide to see the paragraph setup in the cells.)

pasting together multiple months

by EnglishTeacher In reply to DOWNLOAD: Use this templa ...

Okay, my programming knowledge is very limited, so I'm sure this is probably a simple fix, but I can't figure it out.

I need to create a calendar for the whole school year, but when I paste together multiple months, the numbering is continuous (e.g., October starts with 31 instead of 1, November with 62, and so on). I really want to be able to have the whole calendar in one document.

Is this an easy fix? If so, what change do I need to make to the code?

Thank you.

Can you help with a minor change please?

I would like to have my calendar week start with "Monday" instead of Sunday. Is this easy to change. Thanks for the tip!

Starting with Monday

by JodyGilbert In reply to Can you help with a minor ...

All you have to do is open the template and edit the row with the days in it. To do that, right-click on the template file and choose Open from the shortcut menu. When the template opens, just replace Sunday with Monday, Monday with Tuesday, etc., until the row is re-labeled the way you want. Close the template and save your changes, and now when you create new calendars, the days of the week will reflect the changes you made. Please let me know if you need any additional info.

Where is the Dates toolbar?

by mvfriar In reply to DOWNLOAD: Use this templa ...

I tried putting this template into my template folder and creating a calendar/doc using this as my base template. Problem was, no Dates toolbar shows up. Am I missing something?

Sharing the calendar

by jrothaz In reply to DOWNLOAD: Use this templa ...

I'm having trouble setting up the Outlook calendar so that 2 of us can share it in a Dr's Office for setting appointments. Can someone give me help getting it set up or is your calendar "shareable"?
