Download Windows Me Updates to a disk

By courtjester ·
I am trying to help a friend who has Windows Me - he had to reformat her harddrive and now must go and do all the updates with a dial up. Since I have Cable and a burner can I download these updates to a disk then let her install them on her machine.

If so, which site? I went to Microsoft but only found the site wanted to check my machine (I'm running XP Pro so I don't thank that will work.
Any help
jester

run Windows Update (Start -> Programs) on your PC. Select Administrator Options and follow instructions. You will be able to download all Me updates and burn to CD.

2 options:

Use the Windows Update Catalog page:

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog/en/

I recommend that you create a folder for storing the downloads in first.

Or, use the Downloads page and select Windows Me.

Then, download and burn the files to a CD.

Be cautious with DirectX and IE updates.
Make sure that the latest driver for your friends video card supports DirectX 9 before installing DirectX 9, or IE6.
