Downloading movies to a dvd

By soopergal ·
This is a very basic question about downloading movies from the web. Sorry I'm all new to this. I have a Windows XP machine with dvd-rom drive. I have a writable dvd-rom in there. I'm trying to download a movie from bittorrent to to dvd. I get an error saying windows cannot read from disk. The disk might be corrupted or it could be using a format that is uncompatible.
I have bittorrent client software installed as well. I'm not sure how all this works together. Can you help please?

You say your Windows XP has a DVD-ROM drive. Are you sure it is a DVD burner, which is usually marked DVD-R/RW?

You are trying to download a movie from bittorrent to DVD. Normally one downloads to the hard drive and then burns it to the DVD using special software.

It depends on your Bittorrent client

If you are using XP I would reccommend you use the the BitComet torrent client when I was using Windows it did wonders for me, also try the uTorrent client. Try not downloading directly to dvd try the hard drive first then burn it.
