DRIVE ACCESS VIA NETWORK NEIGHBORHOOD…

by rlwolfgram . Updated 18 years, 7 months ago

I have been an IT manager for 3 years and I just learned this the other day. I didn’t know that you could enter the this string “\\192.168.2.132\c$” (where 192.168.2.132 is the IP address of the computer) and get access to their harddrive. The “c$” represents the harddrive with the drive label of C. After entering that, it prompts for user name and password. The problem I am having is that 3 computer on my network auto-fill in the user with “GUEST” and gray it out so it can’t be changed. Any ideas what is causing this?
