Drive B Support in Windows 2000 Pro

By tegan ·
In windows 98, I could have my zip drive be access through the floppy "B" drive if the bios of the workstation supported that. How can I let my win 2k pro workstations access drive b for the zip drive. Secondly, how do I change the drive letter ofa cdrom in win 2k pro?

Drive B Support in Windows 2000 Pro

I doubt that you will be able to change the zip drive letter to B but if your BIOS support it you might be able to.
The drive letters are changed under disk management in Computer management. Click start-programs- administrative tools- computer management. next click on disk mamagement and it will show you a 3 frame window. The bottom right window is where you change the letter assignment. just right click in the drive you want to change and select chane drive letter. then click edit and change it to the desired letter. Depending on how you want the assignment it might take some shuffling and rebooting to free up the drive letters.
Hope this helps
