Drive Copying with Ghost 12.0

by tpossidente . Updated 19 years, 1 month ago

I’m trying to clone my laptop hard drive 60G to a new 80G drive. Ghost 12 has the function “”Copy my Hard Drive”. I would like to still be able to use my old 60G drive in case of an emergency. Does anyone know what advanced settings need to be used (IE: Set drive active, copy MBR, etc)? I concerned that if I set the new drive to “Active” that it will deactivate the existing drive, rendering it un-bootable? Note: I initially created an image of the existing 60G drive (stored to an external hard drive) and performed a restore using the Norton Recovery Disk, with the new 80G drive installed in the laptop, after a successfull restore, the laptop would not boot completely into windows. The boot process failed with a blue screen and no login screen to XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Tony.
